NAME

sav - create a copy of file(s) with a date in file name

SYNOPSIS

WA2LWinTools/bin/sav [ -h | -i | -u | -V ]

sav [ -d ] file...

DESCRIPTION

save (create a copy of) one or more files by adding a date to the file name before the file suffix.

If the SHIFT key is pressed, the original file is opened in the associated application after a successful save of the file.

Examples (executed on December 6th, 2014) without pressing the CONTROL key:

  budgets.xlsx               ==>  budgets.20141206.xlsx
  book.v1.docx               ==>  book.v1.20141206.docx
  anycalc.20140115.xlsx      ==>  anycalc.20141206.xlsx
  logbook.201401151259.xlsx  ==>  logbook.20141206.xlsx
  agendas.15012014.xlsx      ==>  agendas.20141206.xlsx
  todolst.125915012014.xlsx  ==>  todolst.20141206.xlsx

Examples (executed on December 6th, 2014) when pressing the CONTROL key:

OPTIONS

-h

usage message.

-i

install the sav command as menu point 'sav' to the 'Send To' context menu in 'Windows Explorer'.

-u

uninstall the sav shortcut from the 'Send To' context menu in 'Windows Explorer'.

-V

print program version.

-d

save the file into the .sav/ sub-directory and not alongside to the given file.

file...

list of files of which to create a copy. When installed in the 'Send To' menu the selected file(s) in 'Windows Explorer' are passed as a list of files to the sav command.
